to Prayers for Anderson
Hi there,
So I'll be sending daily-ish updates to the ipray4anderson google group and weekly, more indepth updates to close friends and family through the prayers for anderson google group weekly or as there are important requests.
Anderson's recovery is going quite well. He's generally been in good moods lately and he's shown more initiative in trying to be more active and eat/drink more. He always tells me that he's so grateful for me and for our friends and family for praying for him and caring for him. He says it many times a day.
He also says that he misses small groups and misses random people here and there. This morning he said that he wanted to hop in his car, pick me up, and then we'll go to church and then chat with people after church and then go out to lunch and hang out. He missed being at church today... he also missed seeing his newly-designed FCBC Walnut program go into print. I asked Auntie Maureen to save us one.
Anderson just had another "movement" :) He also walked around the unit TWICE with me and did some leg exercises in the room with me. :) Hope he does well at PT.
Also, Yvonne arrived in Houston safely and my parents and Kelly are flying back home now. So now it'll be me, Anderson, Anderson's parents and Yvonne (until Wed). We'll be moving into an extended stay apartment next Saturday the 28th.
Anderson and I have been doing some modified devotions while we're in the hospital at night. He asks me about a Bible character and then I tell him the story and we discuss about what we can learn from them. A few days ago we did Ruth. Last night we did Esther. I asked him... how come you only ask about the girls? he said... i dunno. Ruth I think he asked about cuz Ted said that he liked Ruth... and then Esther he asked me about because he knew someone in high school named Esther. Anyway... I wonder who he's going to ask about next.
Prayer requests:
Miss you all..

Prayer requests:
- Family - Now that my parents and kelly aren't here anymore, it'll be a little more difficult to communicate with Anderson's parents. Actually a lot more difficult. Pray for the communication to go well. Also, Anderson is comfortable with peace and quiet and it seems like Anderson's parents are really uncomfortable with being in a silent room. Pray that they'll either adapt or find a way to be able to hang around with each other.
- Discipleship with Anderson's parents - a woman from Houston has offered to do some Bible study with Anderson's parents while they're here. Pray for that to be fruitful. Also pray that they would be baptized soon.
- Anderson's baptism - um... looks like we won't be back for the Good Friday service, but pray that we'll find a way somehow anyway.
- Yvonne - pray that we'll be able to minister to Yvonne while she's here.
- Numbness - the neurosurgeon says that the numbness in his mouth and tongue are from the surgery and that it should go away with time. his scalp is also numb.
- Rest - to get good rest
- Physical Therapy - that it would help strengthen his muscles and help him get around easier
- Balance - to regain some balance and stability especially in his legs
- Swelling - they're starting to taper off his steroids, pray that the swelling will continue to decrease
- Protection - against infections in the hospital, for his healthy cells against tumor cells, and in general for all of us here in Houston.
Miss you all..
